Deputy City Clerk

The City of Polk City, IA is taking applications for a full time Deputy City Clerk.  Hourly rate DOQ; range from $18.50-$21.00. Public Works - positions open until filled

CONSTRUCTION OBSERVER: This full-time position shall provide construction observation for projects involving City property by conducting site visits and utilizing a variety of tools and equipment in order to ensure compliance with city specifications for quality and materials.  The Construction Observer must exercise discretion and independent judgment in the day-to-day activities of the City infrastructure and development.  Portland Cement Concrete Level 1 and 2 and Aggregate Inspection Level 1 and 2 Certification through the Iowa Department of Transportation or ability to become certified within six months.  Valid Iowa driver's license as a need to operate a city vehicle to travel to various work sites, a CDL-class B with air brake endorsement-requirement within 6 months of hire.  Salary range $45-55k. View this position's full job description. 

SEASONAL CITY MAINTENANCE WORKERS: Under supervision, performs a combination of laboring, equipment operation, semi-skilled building, and mechanical trade assignments involving the maintenance and repair of City streets, buildings, and related property including both routine and emergency work.  Minimum age 18 years.  Work requires climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects/materials weighing up to 100 lbs.  Good depth perception and field of vision, also requires sufficient eye/hand/foot coordination, acceptable hearing and related cognitive abilities.  Approximately 30-40 hours per week.  View this position's full job description.
